Torrox Council and local businesses are totally united in their approach to the problem of beach erosion and the Council has voted unanimously to urge the Department of Coasts to install jetties or breakwaters at Ferrara Playa.
All concerned are fed up with the constant shifting of sand to repair the damage every time the weather changes and want a permanent solution to the problem. This is especially true as there is currently a €1.5 renovation project being carried out at Ferrara Playa.
Whether the unanimity will have any effect remains to be seen, it hasn’t so far.
