Over one hundred people in El Ejido, Almeria, staged a demonstration to demand the resignation of the local Mayor, Juan Enciso, currently residing in prison.
The Mayor has been in jail for two months following ‘Operación Poniente’, an investigation into corruption, and faces no less than five criminal charges.
The protesters feel that having a Mayor in prison does nothing for the image of the municipality. Valid point!
