Although not having actually read the new book ‘Nerja, municipio turístico: El turismo como motor de desarrollo socioeconómico’ – Nerja, a tourist town: Tourism as an engine of socioeconomic development’, it does sound as though it is a breath of fresh air by all accounts.
On the basis that those long associated with the town may develop a narrow view when it comes to progress and new initiatives, the intention is to provide a more objective view of the way forward for Nerja.
Written by a Councillor (and former president of the AEN), it apparently deviates from the traditional obsessions of golf course, marina, sewage plant and development of the Maro – Cerro-Gordo natural park to suggest such things as…..a golf course, marina, sewage plant and the development of the Maro – Cerro-Gordo natural park.
Nothing political there then!
