Thefts from farms in Málaga province appear to occurring almost on a daily basis and the farmers are none too happy about the situation.
Thieves have been stealing everything from fruit to farm machinery, particularly during the various harvest periods, and appear to be working in well organised groups. Some of the robberies have involved the use of huge trucks to carry away the stolen goods.
The farmers are critical of the ‘inefficiency’ of the authorities to do anything about the situation, even when formal complaints are made.
One farmer in La Cala del Moral has been targeted thirty times by thieves.
