The coordinator of the Instituto Andaluz de la Mujer (IAM) in Málaga, Pilar Oriente, the Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto, Armijo, and the Councillor for Equality, Andrés Márquez, took part today in the official presentation of the First Strategic Plan for the Equality of Men and Women in Andalucia.
The Plan is a mandatory requirement of a law passed in 2007. The delay in producing the plan was, according to the Councillor for Equality, an attempt to reach a consensus with all political parties, Unions and other associations. This, he added, has now been achieved.
