Vélez-Málaga is thought to have around 1,800 unsold homes and promoters are now putting some 256 of these on the new website of the Ministry of Housing and Planning (www.tuviviendaenandalucia.es) which is designed to try and encourage people to buy.
The 256 properties are mostly apartments with a price range of between €121,000 and €245,000, the maximum limit for inclusion on the site.
The website has only been operating for three weeks but is already attracting a lot of attention throughout the province. There are various incentives and government loans available to those wishing to take up the offer of buying a house.
