No change at the top of La Liga, it’s still Real Madrid on goal difference from Barcelona with Valencia in third, despite losing, and Sevilla holding on to fourth spot.
Three goals from maestro Lionel Messi gave Barcelona the points in a 3-0 win over Valencia on Sunday, all the goals coming in the second half.
And it was three goals for Higuain as Real Madrid saw off the challenge of Valladolid in a comfortable 1-4 win. Even Valladolid’s goal came courtesy of an own goal, Albiol deflecting the ball past his own keeper.
Málaga C.F. are creeping back towards the relegation zone again after losing 1-0 at Almeria. Soriano scored the only goal of the match in the 55th minute.
Sevilla held on to fourth spot after a 1-1 draw with Deportivo. Fazio gave Sevilla the lead after 21 minutes but it was short-lived, Adrián getting the equaliser just three minutes later.
