An investigation is underway at the Hospital Juan Ramón Jiménez in Huelva after a 38 year old woman died as the result of being stung by an insect.
The woman ran a florist shop in the Las Colonias area of Huelva. On April 20th, she received a consignment of flowers from Mexico which reportedly contained some sort of insect. She was stung twice by the unidentified insect and went to the Emergency Department of the hospital for treatment.
She was given an injection but the next day felt much worse and had a high fever. She was admitted to Intensive Care but died five days later due to sepsis.
