For the first time in Andalucia and in Spain, the Department of Coasts has granted concessions to two beach chiringuitos to remain open all year round.
These licences, the first since changes to the coastal laws, relate to chiringuitos on playa de Matalascañas and in Almonte, Huelva province. The Tucán and Paco Triana bars now comply with all the laws laid down by the Department of Coasts and the concession is for fifteen years, extendible by a further fifteen years.
The concessions come after two years of negotiations and following the setting up by the Council of a Working Committee which included members of the association of bars and representatives of the provincial Department of Coasts.
Further concessions are expected to follow.
