UDYCO agents of the National Police yesterday carried out a dramatic raid on five homes in the Carabanchel district of Vélez-Málaga aimed at putting an end to the drug trafficking in the area.
A helicopter hovered overhead as the officers carried out the simultaneous raids on the five premises in one of the most troubled neighbourhoods in the city.
A total of fourteen people were detained and large amounts of drugs and drug-related paraphernalia were seized.
Some of the drugs were found in the drainage system as suspects hastily tried to flush their stashes of cocaine and heroine down the toilet.
