Junta de Andalucia refuses to commit to date for marina

The Junta de Andalucia has rejected a proposal to set time limits for a decision on the location of a marina between Nerja and Torrox and a time limit for accepting bids for the project.

The proposal was for a decision on location by December 21st 2010 and for tenders to be invited before the end of 2011.

The Andalucian PSOE has rejected the proposal on the grounds that, although the project is classified as a priority, they do not want to commit to dates as there are many legal requirements to be met. In addition, a similar project in La Caleta is now stalled as there are no funds available for its implementation.

It was pointed out that the PSOE has been ‘studying’ the proposal since 1986 and it is about time the studying stopped and action took over.
