Argentina 4-1 Spain

A classy performance by Argentina saw them beat World Cup winners Spain 4-1, extending their unbeaten run in Buenos Aires to 40 matches.

Messi, who else, was the first name on the score sheet with a delightful chip over goalkeeper Pepe Reina. Higuain and Tevez added two more and Spain were 0-3 after just 34 minutes.

Llorente grabbed what was to be a consolation goal for the champions of the world before Aguero, Maradona’s son-in-law, headed in a Heinze cross to complete the rout.
