What started out as an internet chat between two friends ended in tragedy with one of them, 21-year-old Francisco Caro Borrego from Las Tablas, being fatally stabbed.
The two men had been exchanging messages via the internet and a transaction had been made for the supply of a marijuana grinder.
However, there appear to have been some discrepancies regarding the ultimate price of the machine and Francisco Caro Borreg0 decided to go round to the home of his friend, initials A.S.F., to sort things out, face to face.
What followed was a heated exchange with the father of A.S.F. trying, unsuccessfully, to intervene and calm things down. It ended with death of 21-year-old Francisco Caro Borreg0 as a result of stab wounds to the kidneys.
Police arrived on the scene and arrested 24-year-old A.S.F. as the alleged killer. The two youths had apparently been close friends for a long time.
The detainee has a prior criminal record, the victim had no previous problems with the law.
