There was a second earthquake in Almeria today, this one measuring 4 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in the Alborán sea and close to the coastal towns of Roquetas de Mar and La Mojonera.
This second quake took place at 13:02. The magnitude was 4 degrees on the Richter scale but the intensity, which indicates possible movement, reached 5 degrees.
Almeria has a high incidence of small tremors and experts say that these small quakes allow the periodic release of energy which would otherwise accumulate and possible lead to a much larger earthquake.
