Passengers resume their journey

The 148 passengers stranded in sub-zero temperatures and without any heating after the Santander to Madrid train broke down between Lantueno and Reinosa resumed their journey after about three hours.

The snow and freezing temperatures, as low as minus 13 degrees, caused problems with the train’s pantograph and it ground to a halt.

After three hours, another train arrived and ferried the passengers to Reinosa where buses were made available to take the passengers to Palencia, Valladolid and Madrid.
