The Málaga Fish Inspection Service has confiscated 216 kilos of immature hake in the port of Caleta de Vélez in the municipality of Vélez-Málaga.
The fish were in a truck and the batch of fish lacked any sort of documentation and were destined for inland areas of Andalucia.
The confiscated fish measured on average around 10 centimetres, the legal minimum being 20 centimetres.
The fishing for, catching and selling of undersized fish is viewed as a serious offence and can lead to fines of up to €60,000.
