The Mossos d’Esquadra in collaboration with the Guardia Civil have arrested 27 people who formed part of an organisation stealing and reselling metal, copper in particular.
Of the 27 detainees, 15 were responsible for stealing metal and the rest for selling the ill-gotten gains. The thieves were resident in Sant Adrià and were of Eastern European origin. The sellers were Spanish nationals.
During raids, police recovered 20 tons of nickel stolen in Algeciras, Cádiz province.
