Thirty-three sub-Saharans, including 17 women and 5 babies, were intercepted early this morning in the Strait of Gibraltar as they tried to make their way into Spain from Morocco via the back door.
A woman in Tangier rang the authorities to say that her husband had set off in a boat but the vessel had got into difficulties. A search was launched and the small boat was located about 2.5 miles north of Malabata, Morocco.
