The Guardia Civil in Inca, Mallorca, are investigating the discovery of two bodies, those of a 66 year old man and his 5 year old son, found hanging in a house in calle Montaña.
Police are working on the hypothesis that the man killed his five year old son and then committed suicide. Neighbours found the body of the man hanging in the stairwell and notified the police who, upon searching the house, discovered the body of the child hanging in the bathroom.
The man lived with his 46 year old wife and 5 year old son but was in the process of separation and it is thought that friction within the family was the root cause of this terrible tragedy. It was also the young boy’s birthday.
