The Blue and Whites went a goal behind against bottom club Zaragoza, Aranda the scorer, but then amazingly staged a second half recovery to end up 5-1 winners.
Seba Fernández grabbed the equaliser for Málaga just before half time and the goals from Da Silva (og), Demichelis, Isco and Rondón were enough to give the Blue and Whites a much needed victory and sees them move up, at least temporarily, to fifth place in La Liga.
Elsewhere, Racing drew 1-1 with Sporting, Real Betis drew 1-1 with Getafe and fourth placed Levante, probably the surprise team of the season, beat Espanyol 1-2. Valdu and Rubén Suárez were the scorers for Levante, Kalu Uche scoring for Espanyol.
