Minimum service levels agreed for General Strike on March 29th

The Ministry of Development and the CCOO and UGT unions have agreed minimum service levels for transportation during the general strike on March 29th, these being roughly the same as those in place for the September 2010 general strike.

It took ten hours of negotiations to reach an agreement which strikes a balance between the right to strike and the right to transportation and mobility.

Local trains: 30% service rising to 35% between 06:00 and 09:00.

Air traffic: 10% of mainland flights, 50% of flights linking the mainland with the Canaries, Balearics, Ceuta and Melilla, 20% 0f flights to EU countries and 40% of other international routes.

Rail traffic: 20% service for long distance and AVE trains (over 500 kilometres or more than four hours journey time).

Bus service: 25% service.
