A fire which started at 15:00 on Tuesday in the Los Charcones area of the Sierra de Gádor near the town of Enix, Almeria, remains under control after being stabilised at around 03:00 this morning.
The fire began in an area of esparto grass and scrub and has so far destroyed 130 hectares of land. Planes and helicopters joined the effort to control the blaze, the cause of which is under investigation.
