The fishermen’s associations in La Linea de la Concepción and Algeciras are due to meet today to try and reach a common understanding and agreement on the question of Gibraltar and fishing.
The meeting is aimed at forming a group that will act as spokesman for the fishermen and boat owners in order to try and resolve the escalating conflict with the authorities in Gibraltar. The crisis began two months ago and is just getting worse and the fishermen’s associations fear that before too long, someone will get hurt.
For a second night, fishing boats remained in port and no incidents were reported.
