Friday saw the awarding of the prizes for the 13th Short Story Contest (XIII Certamen de Relatos Cortos), the theme of this year’s competition being ‘Broken Mirrors’.
There were twenty-three entries this year and a jury comprising Estrella Rebollo, Lourdes Ruiz, Beatriz Reinoso, Chema Centeno and Pedro Valencia awarded the prizes as follows:
- 1st prize: Trophy plus €200 – Antonio Manuel Martín Acosta with a story entitled ‘Juro que jamás volveré’ (I swear never again)
- 2nd prize: €50 – José María Vílchez Lagos with ‘El pequeño Chen’ (Little Chen)
- 3rd prize: €50 – Juan Carlos Peña Martínez with ‘Una incursión con la realidad’ (A reality attack)
