Jorge Lorenzo won the San Marino Grand Prix in Misano and increased his lead at the top of the standings to 38 points after his main rival Dani Pedrosa crashed out.
Repsol Honda rider Pedrosa made a terrible start and was then taken out by Hector Barbera halfway through lap one. Italy’s Valentino Rossi was second in his home race with Alvaro Bautista in third.
