The rain held off throughout the midday period today as the Balcón de Europa hosted the first of the Nerjadanza shows. The programme was a bit different to the one scheduled, with the first dancer being Anuska Alonso from Galicia with a piece entitled ‘Quando Corpus’.
Next up was Dutchman Rocco Vermijs, a replacement for the German ballerina Angela Lampiranidou, who interpreted a piece entitled ‘Trust’, encouraging audience participation all along the way.
One of the main ideas behind Nerjadanza is to bring contemporary dance to a wider audience.
