Olive harvest begins in Jaén

The co-operatives in Jaén begin the olive harvest today, Monday, with expectations being for around 3.5 million kilos of olives, enough for 700,000 tons of olive oil.

The Department of Education has arranged schooling and care centres for the children of seasonal workers.

Although the harvest is considered good, many farmers are concerned about the low prices they receive.
