Comfortable wins for Barcelona and Atlético

Barcelona are back at the top of La Liga after thrashing Rayo Vallecano 6-0 on Saturday evening.

Adriano gave Barcelona a good start with a goal after just two minutes, then Messi with two, Sanchez, Pedro and Neymar all found the net.

It was a match which saw Lionel Messi move above former Real Madrid striker Alfredo Di Stefano in La Liga goal-scoring history. Messi’s 228 goals in 263 games puts him joint third in the all-time league goal-scoring charts alongside ex-Real Madrid striker Raul.

Telmo Zarra – 251 goals in 277 games
Hugo Sanchez – 234 goals in 347 games
Raul – 228 goals in 550 games
Lionel Messi – 228 goals in 263 games
Alfredo Di Stefano – 227 goals in 329 games

Atlético Madrid were comfortable 3-0 winners over Real Valladolid and are equal on points with Barcelona. Raúl Garcia, Diego Costa and Godin were the scorers.
