A 41-year-old woman has been arrested in Vélez-Málaga after allegedly entering the home of a 79-year-old man, assaulting him and locking him in a room while she stole items from the house.
The incident occurred at a residence on the Camino de Algarrobo. The woman allegedly knocked at the door and when the owner, whom she apparently knew, opened it she attacked him and gained entry after a violent struggle.
The woman then locked the man in a room while she set about stealing money, documents and other personal effects. Once finished, she unlocked the room where the man was incarcerated and fled the scene.
The fact that the man knew the woman led to her quick arrest and she has been charged with robbery, burglary and illegal detention.
