A worker at the Ence factory in Huelva province died on Monday morning after falling into a tank of bleach.
The Emergency Services received a call at 09:46 to say that a man, in his thirties, had fallen into a vat of bleach and had not been rescued. The Metal, Construction and Allied Workers Union (MCA) has filed a complaint with the Labour Inspectorate relating to the incident.
In addition, the Junta de Andalucia, has opened proceedings against the company Ence for not reporting that an accident had taken place and for failing to activate an internal Emergency Plan as required under the Andalucia Emergency Law. The infringement is considered a serious breach of the law.
