There were thirteen fatal accidents on the roads in the rest of Spain and in addition to the 14 fatalities, 5 others were seriously injured. In one accident, a 65-year-old lorry driver lost his life when he got out of his vehicle to help the occupants of a car that had crashed on the highway south of Tenerife.
