The Spanish middle-distance triathlon champion Aída Valiño was one of eight people injured when a van hit a group of cyclists in Santa María de Oia, Pontevedra.
Valiño, who became Spanish champion on June 14th in Buitrago de Lozolla, Madrid, suffered a broken collarbone and elbow in the incident as is currently in the Hospital Meixoeiro inVigo.
Fellow club cyclist Iván Losada was also amongst the injured and need treatment at the Fatima Health Centre.
