A 42-year-old man, named as Santiago Donato Santiago Muñoz, died on Friday while felling trees near his home in the village of La Molina in the municipality of Cútar.
Santiago Donato Santiago Muñoz and several others had been removing trees near to his home and were in the process of felling the last few when one fell on top of him. It hit him heavily on the chest and then pinned him to the ground.
He was rushed to hospital but died in the ambulance due to the severity of his internal injuries. He leaves a wife and two young children.
