Police in Pontevedra are investigating whether the deaths of a woman and her husband are the latest case of domestic violence, which would be the 37th in Spain so far this year and the sixth in Galicia.
A man called the police at 08:30 on Sunday morning to say that he had shot and killed his wife and would be taking his own life.
When police arrived at the house in Vilaverde they found a 38-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound to the head and her husband dead from hanging.
