A fire which started on Friday afternoon near the Colina del Sol school in Torrox Pueblo was quickly controlled and extinguished after the prompt arrival of the Fire Brigade and INFOCA, preventing it from spreading.
Firefighters, with the support of a helicopter, controlled and extinguished the blaze within about two hours, limiting the material damage caused.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but there is speculation that it could have been caused by someone throwing a cigarette end from a vehicle as it passed by the area.
