Police in Gibraltar have arrested a 60-year-old man who allegedly abducted and sexually abused an 11-year-old girl in La Linea de La Concepción several weeks ago.
An international arrest warrant was issued for the man on December 18th 2014 following the incident.
The man was looking after the daughter of a friend who was in prison and took her to a guesthouse where he allegedly sexually abused her. The girl was found in a bad state and medical examinations confirmed that she had been sexually abused.
The National Police are now beginning extradition proceedings.
