Around forty people have submitted requests for assistance under the second Municipal Housing Rehabilitation Plan and the technical department is now scrutinising and assessing the projects.
The majority of works involve tiling, flooring, moisture repair, installation of showers and window replacement.
The Council has set aside €60,000 to cover the works. The Council technicians will oversee the works and various building licences have been waived.
Such work is the responsibility of the Junta de Andalucia, but since the regional authority has shown no interest since 2009, the Council has decided to continue the scheme itself.
