In the Parque Verano Azul in Nerja stands a replica of the fishing boat ‘La Dorada’, made famous in the 1980′s TV series ‘Verano Azul’. It was the abode of the old seawolf “Chanquete”, played by Antonio Ferrandis.
You may notice that something has changed. It has, the cabin/wheelhouse has disappeared.
Due to natural deterioration over time, it became necessary to carry out extensive renovations on the boat before it completely fell apart. The local Council were hoping that the TV company Canal Sur, who brought out the series ‘Verano Azul’, would foot the bill, but they declined.
