Council investing to create jobs

The Council has announced that it will be spending €2,161,000 this year on job creation, with nearly two million of this amount coming from local resources. There is also an €85,000 provision from the provincial Council and €117,00 from the Extraordinary Social Action Plan.

Investment of €3 million for Ronda

Málaga Provincial Council is to spend more than three million euros on cultural and tourism projects  in the municipality of Ronda. This was announced by the president of the provincial Council, Elías Bendodo, after a visit to Ronda. Projects include a €600,000 district library and the provision of content for the Integral Wine Centre located in the El Fuerte district.

€448 million destined for metro and tram systems in Andalucia in 2013

The Junta de Andalucia may not be able to pay its current outstanding debts to educational establishments, charitable organisations, municipal corporations and companies or suppliers, but it proposing to spend €448.6 million on the metros in Sevilla, Málaga and Granada and the tram system in the Bahía de Cádiz.

Vélez-Málaga attracting investors

Vélez-Málaga appears to be attracting potential investors with two huge projects already being proposed, although it remains to be seen whether either will see the light of day.

Facebook valued at $50 billion

According to the New York Times, Facebook has raised funds from Goldman Sachs and a Russian investor in a deal valuing the social networking site at $50 billion.
