The Andalucian Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has confirmed an outbreak of legionella in Osuna, Sevilla, and is taking steps to control the situation.
The Department of Health yhas reported that the deaths of three British nationals aged between 73 years and 78 years were due to pneumonia associated with legionella and are related to the outbreak in Calpe, Alicante.
Three people admitted to the Hospital Comarca in Vélez-Málaga in the past six weeks have been diagnosed as having pneumonia as a result of infection by the Legionella bacteria.
A third person has died in Sevilla following an outbreak of legionella, the latest victim being a 79 year old woman.
