In the past, the Salvador Rueda Municipal Library in Nerja has only opened on Saturdays during certain special periods, such as before school examinations or during occasional school holidays.
Extended hours at the Municipal Library
During the festive period, the Municipal Library has extended its hours. It is now open from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Friday and from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 19:45 on Saturdays.
More books for the library
The Municipal Library ‘Salvador Rueda’ has added another 333 titles to its inventory, bring the total number of books to 15,700. The library will shortly be ordering yet more titles, taking into account suggestions and requests from readers. The library has 3,776 registered users.
Library to open evenings during the summer
The Salvador Rueda Municipal Library will open during the evenings in July and August as a study place for anyone who needs it.
Inauguration of new library in Periana
The XI Día del Aceite Verdial in Periana on Sunday was attended by a number of political figures, both local and from farther afield, with Antonio Lozano giving the opening address. The new Minister of Culture, Paulino Plata, was on hand to inaugurate the new municipal library, a 200 square metre building which cost €130,000 to build.
