After a bad year in 2013, estimates for the olive harvest in Andalucia for 2013/14 look like being the best results for several years with 6,241,631 tons of olives being collected to produce around 1.3 million tons of olive oil.
Mango production on the increase in the Axarquia
According to the head of the cooperative Trops, mango production in the Axarquia is likely equal that of avocados within the next four years. Avocado production is around 30,000 tons per year. In 2011, mango production was 4,000 tons and in 2012 it will be between 8,000 and 9,000 tons.
