Police in Vélez-Málaga have opened proceedings against a fifty year old man for a serious offence of cruelty to animals and, if convicted, he could face a fine of up to €30,000.

The Public Prosecutor for the Department of Environment is asking for a one year prison sentence in each of four cases being brought against the Mayor of Sayalonga, José Luis Navas, for city planning violations.
