There was a small fire early this afternoon at the Hospital Universitario in Puerta del Mar, Cádiz province although despite the amount of smoke, it was not found necessary to evacuate the facility.
Renovation time
The Calahonda bakery/cakeshop in calle Puerta del Mar is undergoing a bit of an internal reorganisation and renovation at the moment and is closed. Nice cakes and savouries there. Next door, the Drugstore is also closed, whether it will open again remains to be seen after a 100% clearance sale.

The Hotel Puerta del Mar appears to have closed, and not just for vacations. Other recent closures include ‘Timon’ on calle El Barrio and ‘Silverman’ in calle Cristo, with ‘Tropico’ at the beginning of calle Pintada about to go after they sell all their stock and the long-standing ‘Jade’ in calle Pintada up for sale.
