A man died on Wednesday after being run over by a backhoe machine at the Umbría del Pozo natural stone quarry in Macael, Almeria. The incident is under investigation by the labour inspectorate.

A man in his fifties, a resident of Fines, Almeria, died on Tuesday after being trapped under rubble at a quarry in the Cerro Pelao area of Macael. The man was performing remedial work when a section of the quarry collapsed and buried him.
