Torrox reduces municipal electricity bill

Torrox Council claims to have reduced the municipal electricity costs during the past year by around €140,000 through the implementation of ‘a number of actions to improve the management of local energy consumption and to reduce it as far as possible’.

Government to temporarily reduce IVA on new homes

The government has announced plans to try to tackle the severe problems facing its housing market by temporarily halving the sales tax (IVA) on new homes to 4% to try to stimulate the construction sector.

Speed limit on highways to be reduced

IBI rate to be reduced

Nerja Council has approved a reduction in the IBI (rates) tax and has frozen local taxes in view of the continuing economic and financial crisis in the country. The opposition PSOE voted against the measure. The IBI rate is to be reduced from 0.514 to 0.485, representing a decrease of 5.64%.
