Congress votes today on ‘state of alert’ extension

Congress will today vote on whether to extend the ‘state of alert’ to January 15th to ensure no disruption to flights over the Christmas holiday period. The proposal will be debated at midday and the vote will take place at around 14:00.

Government to extend the ‘state of alert’

The Cabinet has agreed to propose the extension of the ‘state of alert’ until January 15th 2011 to guarantee normal air traffic over the Christmas period. There will be a debate and vote on Thursday, but the Government has the backing of the CiU, PNV and CC although anyone can propose modifications to the proposal.
