The Treasury is warning of a new ‘phishing’ attack whereby taxpayers are being tempted to part with personal information such as bank account numbers and credit card details.
11 detained in connection with Treasury fraud
Eleven people have been detained in connection with defrauding the Treasury of around €22 million by avoiding paying IVA and then claiming refunds of excise duty on alcoholic beverages.
