New president of the TSJA

Lorenzo Jesús del Río Fernández, born in 1956 in Jódar, Jaén, has been apponted as the new president of the TSJA, the Supreme Court of Justice for Andalucia, beating off competition from Francisco Javier Arroyo, president of the Málaga Court and Joaquín García and Bernardo de Quirós from the Litigation Division of the Supreme Court in Málaga.

Compensation award

It is reported that the TSJA, the Superior Court of Justice of Andalucia, has ordered Nerja Town Hall to pay €630,304.06 plus interest, which may amount to €900,000, to the company Maravillas del Mar S.A. relating to the expropriation of lands for the proposed water treatment plant.

Vialia allowed to open on Sundays

After three years of controversy and ninety denuncias, the TSJA (High Court of Justice in Andalucia) has ruled that Vialia can open on Sundays because it benefits from an exception to the Ley de Comercio Interior de Andalucía (Domestic Trade Act of Andalucia) relating to business premises in transport stations.
