Police have broken up an organisation specialising in kidnappings and the theft of drugs in Málaga province.
Four people, all of Lithuanian nationality, have been arrested in connection with kidnappings and the theft of drugs. The gang were responsible for, amongst others, the kidnapping of a British subject in Marbella in 2004.
The police carried out various raids and seized a number of weapons, vehicles and over €1 million in cash, most of it counterfeit. One of the houses raided was in Torrox where guns, false passports, communications inhibitors and other materials were located. The house was used to conceal the captives.
